Hunting Season:
The Namibian Trophy Hunting season opens on the 1st February and closes on the 30th November.
Requirements for importing of firearms:
- A maximum of two firearms per person may be temporarily imported
- A maximum of one-hundred rounds of ammunition may be imported per hunting rifle. This can vary depending on the weight of ammunition the airlines allow you to travel with. Please confirm this before leaving for your trip.
- You are required to show proof of ownership for the firearms you are bringing along. This you can acquire from your local U.S customs office.
- You are also required to give a physical address where you will be staying. This is as follows: Farm Babi-Babi # 294, Gobabis District, Namibia
- Automatic, Semi-automatic firearms and handguns are not allowed to be imported.
- It is legal to import bows for bow-hunting without an import permit.
- Muzzle-loader rifles are allowed to be temporarily imported for hunting.
- Powder and percussion caps are not allowed on airlines, so these have to be arranged well in advance with us.
Entering requirements:
- You need a passport which is valid for a minimum of 6 months after the departure date from Namibia.
- Visas are required for certain nationalities and are valid for three months from the date of issue. Citizens from the following countries are exempted from visa requirements if entering as bona fide tourist: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, United States Of America.
Hiring of Rifles:
- Rifles are available for hire in case you don’t want to go through the troubles of bringing your own gun along.
- The calibers available are, .375 H&H , .30-06 , .338 , .223 , .30-378 , .470
- Rifles are hired at a daily rate of US$ 45 per day. The ammunition used is charged extra.
- Please confirm the use of a hired rifle for your safari well in advance.

Clothing:
- During the warmer months of the season which is February-April and September- November we recommend short sleeved shirts or vests as temperatures can reach to 40 ‘ C (104 F ). A Jacket or something warm is always good to have during these months as rain might cause the temperatures to drop.
- During the colder months of the season, May-August, it is advisable to bring good layers of warm clothing along to keep out the cold. Sometimes early morning temperatures can be below freezing, but it warms up during the day to about 15’C ( 30 F).
- It is advised to wear comfortable hunting shoes that will not give you blisters. Make sure to walk them in before your safari if possible.
- Warm gloves against the winter chill is a great comfort.
- Best colors for hunting clothes are dark green or brown for February-April and September-November. Camo clothing also works well. For the drier months which is May-August, it is good to wear lighter colors like Khaki.

Electrical Appliance:
All run on 220/240 volts. Outlets are of the round 3-pin, 15 amps type. It is advised to bring your own adaptor converter if you wish to charge your camera, laptop or batteries ext.
Drinking Water:
Most of the tap water is purified and safe to drink. Caution should be taken in rural areas.
